For small units or just to save space on board with the guarantee of the Steiner brand, but somewhat less visual comfort compared to other models. I have had several of the more entry level versions and quickly on sold them as they were nothing remarkable. However, on water (and especially where sea spray is involved), they ensure the oculars remain dry and in optimal condition and so for my trip I took the time to thread the rain-guard onto my neck strap and so used it much more than usual.

Aasy to use and versatile binoculars that offers in addition to its compact size and excellent image quality, an integrated HD-stabilized compass. This was by choice as we were going as a family and thus as well as my camera, we had my nine-year-old daughter as well as our dog in the canoe. The good news is Steiner produces a few slightly more compact options because of this, I zeroed in on their 7x30 Navigator Pro which I thought could be ideal. In perceptions (versus specifications), the apparent field of view seems neither wide nor constricted. Because of their relatively long minimum focal distance, I wouldn't recommend them for uses like insect or butterfly observation, taking to museums or anywhere where you need to focus on objects at close range.Whilst certainly not essential, Steiner's Hydrophobic "Nano-Protection" is a very nice feature to have on the water and I love the way the water acts like it is almost allergic to the glass and simply runs off it. Advanced accessories We developed for you a new universal attachment system for the neoprene harness. To a point and whilst on a boat, the weight of your binoculars is not really an issue as unlike walking, the vessel is doing most of the carrying for you. Welcome to BirdForum, the internet's largest birding community with thousands of members from all over the world. With high clarity, wide field of view and a natural well balanced image (true to life colour due to multi coated lenses).

The Navigator 7x30 has a high-definition coating on the lenses which creates excellent light transmission. There are not many other Steiner models that appeal to me, maybe the 8x30 Nighthunter porro or 80mm observation porro's? In addition to the intuitive handling thanks to the new "Open Bridge System", it offers well-known properties with the STEINER Auto-Focus that nobody would want to miss on the high seas. Like the previous model, the new Navigator series offers two models with the popular analogue integrated compass. Once set, the STEINER Auto-Focus always delivers crystal-clear images in 3D brilliance from 20m to infinity - without refocusing. The main difference between the Marine and Navigator lines is that the Navigators offer a slightly wider field of view, and they can be submerged to a depth of 6 ft, while the Marines are only waterproof, not submersible. In addition to a firm grip, the new, wave-like rubber armouring texture also offers the special ability to repel water to ensure non-slip and safe handling, especially in heavy rain. Steiner Navigator Marine Binoculars are professional binoculars for those who take their activities on the water seriously.
