I received a free copy of, A Game of Lies, by Clare Mackintosh, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. It was interesting to see who all made up the show and the show was focused on a secret they each wanted to protect, some of them were a little silly in my opinion, but they were important to the characters and that was what mattered. Wanneer er vervolgens een moord wordt gepleegd, zijn er veel verdachten en net zoveel alibi’s… maar wie vertelt de waarheid? Another fun, quick and entertaining read by Clare Mackintosh - I will be looking out for the next book in this series.

His psyche couldn’t take the turn the producer decided on and he’s off into the mountains, a danger to himself and others. The author highlighted a lot of societal issues, such as shaming people for their choices and the brutality of reality TV.The first show contains a surprise for viewers and an even bigger one for the contestants as this is a game of lies like no other. You really do feel the Welshness via the language, the local characters and their roots and the area is beautifully described so it exudes atmosphere. This second book follows on from it and somehow makes the book more grounded and human- we get glimpses of the internal struggle to repel on another when infact they are attracted to one another. The second installment of DC Morgan’s series was such an anticipated read for me, since I absolutely loved the first book.

However the contestants haven't realised that their innermost secrets are going to be revealed to the watching public. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

The following morning the shows producers informs the police at Bryndare that contestant Ryan Francis is missing. I’m a big fan of Clare’s books, and when I heard that After Party would be followed on, I was looking forward to this. Ffion is a great character – conscientious in her pursuit of a murderer, although far from rigorous in her relationship with formal protocol. This is the second book featuring Detective Ffion Morgan as this picks up from book I would recommend reading book 1 first you won’t be disappointed. The contestants also pique her interest, including Ffion's drinking buddy, postal worker Ceri Jones, who is competing against Pam Butler, an authoritative headteacher, Aliyah Brown, a beautiful childcare practitioner, Jason Shenton, a flirting, charming firefighter, Henry Moore, a tall, dark-haired, wise accountant, Lucas Taylor, the reverend with dark secrets, and Ryan Francis, a man with a troubled past.

With the contestants set up in a Welsh woodland camp (expect a few Welsh names and sentances) Miles then announces a new game plan. Everyone has a secret in this game show set in the Welsh mountains but who would kill to keep their secret.Ffion is a mess, she is reluctant to use evidence that might incriminate her friend, she goes hot and cold over Leo and she is trying to build a relationship with her teenage daughter.
