All You Ever Wanted is packed full of menace and danger, and deftly exposes the fragility of family life. Gripping throughout, it has a satisfying and jaw-dropping ending' My Weekly'This is not a predictable thriller, I was very surprised by some of the turns. It's often very dark, and creepy, with a sinister edge that pulls the reader in and one can't help but turn the pages quickly as the explosive and shocking ending approaches. Susan cranks up the creep factor in all the right places making this a slow-burning domestic thriller with a deep heart.

All You Ever Wanted is a dark domestic drama that ticks every single box, with an ending that’ll have you thinking for months. Not the kind of person she would normally be drawn to, there’s something about Anna that suggests they could be friends. The plot was fairly predictable from early on (no spoilers but it’s about family ties, separation and how lives diverge). I wasn’t sure my heart could take more emotion, but it somehow managed it as Emily and Simon have a crucially important chat. Yes there was a criminal element but this was more about the characters, the small family whose lives are disrupted by Anna.

The first person is Emily we hear a lot about her how she met her husband and got married and now have a child. The Flight of Cornelia Blackwood was published in 2019 to critical acclaim, appearing on a number of ‘best of’ lists that year. Anna's life has been one of struggle, rejection and loneliness whereas Emily seems to have a dream life and it does encourage you to question whether you should feel sympathy for her or whether she is ungrateful. Up until this point, their relationship hadn’t been at its best, but I was so grateful things had improved when Emily needed her the most. This is such a dark and emotional read and i certainly wasn't prepared for how emotionally tied I would be to the characters. Her powerful contemporary novels about women’s lives have been published in many languages, shortlisted for prizes, and rank high in the Nielsen bestseller chart. Emma Bamford, author of Deep Water'Dark and sinister, this creepy psychological thriller has it all. My previous novels have been published to glowing reviews, translated into many languages and have ranked in the Nielsen bestseller chart.

The plot had me constantly thinking, the feeling of knowing something wasn’t right was so satisfying and impressed me more with each passing chapter.I was hooked from the first few pages, a great easy holiday read, I loved the change of narrator it was unexpected and actually needed. There was no slowing down as Emily and Simon do what they need to do to put things right, to save what is left of their family. There was so much to explore in this book, the chapter endings always forcing me to read another chapter, and then another. Their cat, Oscar, has been missing for days and Emily is getting increasingly worried about his whereabouts.
