I’ve soldered Beyerdynamic cans back together for friends before, but it’s not something most people are willing to do. Thanks to the wide frequency response and exceptional audio fidelity, they allow you to record – confident you’re hearing the real thing. After the Second World War, the company moved to Heilbronn, Germany, and now also has a US subsidiary with headquarters in Farmingdale, New York.

The biggest difference is in their sound profiles - the Beyerdynamic sound quite bright, even piercing to some, while the Astro sound less sharp but are also a bit dark. These over-emphasized highs aren’t bad for music per se, but they definitely benefit from some equalization. When evaluating the frequency response score with the Average calibration profile, the pair to pair consistency of the given model is taken into account – if we have measured a considerable frequency response inconsistency among multiple pairs of the given model, the score drops, as the profile loses accuracy. You can then choose which finance term you'd like to apply for, and change your deposit if you wish.In fact, looking back on my audio journey and experience, this was one of the first headphones that really got me into the hobby--I was listening to it way before I even listened to the LCD-2, the headphone I first wrote a review about. Of course, it's worth keeping in mind that the v-shaped tuning won't be for everyone, but the way that it's executed on the DT770 Pro I think is quite tasteful and enjoyable. They're also decently well-built and comfortable enough for most, although they can be tight on the head for some. But you really do need to use a high-quality amplifier or audio interface to get the most out of these headphones.

Designed for studio and 'on-the-go' use, DT240 closed back headphones offer 'deep bass, vivid mids, and clean defined highs'. You get a big hard case and an extra straight detachable cable with the DT 1770, but that's about it. Thanks to the wide frequency response and exceptional audio fidelity, they allow you to record with confidence – you’re guaranteed to hear your mixes, masters, and edits in accurate detail. They're also tremendously more comfortable than the Sennheiser, and their build quality is noticeably superior. Additionally, like all other Beyerdyamic headphones I've tried, the DT770 Pro has pin-point accurate imaging that is excellent at delineating the positioning of sound.See our recommendations for the best DJ headphones, the best headphones for studio, and the best headphones for music.

If you’re a music-lover or budding musician, a set of tough-as-nails headphones is an absolute must. The Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO and the Beats Solo Pro Wireless have different strengths, and you may prefer one over the other. On the other hand, the Philips are open-back headphones with a much better passive soundstage performance. This benefit alone has made it the first choice for vocalists and broadcasters in the studio for decades, providing clean recordings free of any unwanted noise. Build – evaluates how well the headphones are put together, the materials used and indicates the expected longevity. This manufacturer has developed a reputation for producing headphones with solid imaging performance, and the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO are no exception. However, if you’re looking for commuting headphones: you’ll probably be better served by wireless or noise-canceling headphones. However, we do see the benefit of this in live sound applications where you really want to get all of the top end under control to avoid a feedback loop which can be a quick showstopper.
